I'm starting my 100 Things Challenge today. I don't think it will be difficult at all since I'm one of those people who likes "empty". I feel better when life is simple and there is not a lot of clutter around me.
I've got a history of getting rid of things. Back in 1992, I sold and gave away everything I owned except one back pack which contained some clothes and art supplies. Yes, I mean I really got rid of everything. I was 40, burned out in my life and needed to start over.
I did hold on to a little box that contained family photos, and a couple of small personal memorabilia. But....everything else was gone.
The feeling was scarey, but so liberating. I needed to be free of my old life. I quit my job and traveled to Hawaii. I had fantastic adventures and started a whole new life......but that's a story for a different blog.
This blog is to record the 100 Things Challenge. I've accumulated "stuff" since returning from Hawaii and I'm really looking forward to letting it go!
So, here goes......I'll start with the top 10 personal things I definitely want to keep. In later posts, I'll start listing items I'm letting go and what I am doing with them. Some of the things will be recycled into artwork.
Top 10 Things I want to keep:
1. Wedding Ring (found a great husband when I returned from Hawaii!)
2. Mac Book Pro ( I use this everyday)
3. Family photos ( I am grouping these as one item)
4. My eyeglasses ( I have three pair which I use everyday)
5. Hair stuff (also a group - hairbrush, curling iron, hairspray)
6. Make-up (just a couple of items, not much)
7. Fleece jacket (I like to be toasty warm)
8. Pair of jeans ( I will recycle these when I get a new pair)
9. Small Koa Wood jewelry box made for me by a Hawaiian friend
10.Sneakers (comfy, feel good)
That's it for today......Please share your ideas. I've love to hear what you think.
Thanks
